However, there are some tricks that we don’t necessarily disclose to everyone, as most people are satisfied with the normal “brush and floss” talk. Below you can discover just a few ways you can increase your overall oral hygiene in your daily life and not just when you are doing your routine brushing and flossing.

  1. Sugar-free gum is your friend
    Not only is sugar-free gum great for when you are trying to lose weight but it is also wonderful for your teeth. When you chew gum, your mouth creates more saliva which will natural rinse your teeth of germs and bacteria.
  2. Drink a lot of water
    Most people don’t drink enough water as it is, so making sure you drink more can’t really hurt. Water is also a great and natural way to rinse your teeth, much like saliva.
  3. Carry floss picks or even floss with you
    When food sits in your teeth or gums for an extended amounts of time, bacteria is given the chance to grow. If you care floss or floss picks with you, you can take care of the problem as soon as it happens and rinse after for good measure.
  4. Rethink your lunch
    Eating an apple or another type of fruit or vegetable at the end of your lunch meal can help to remove residue from teeth.
